Steel structure bridge is a kind of bridge whose main load-bearing structure is made of steel.
This bridge structure is called the main bridge along its length direction, in which the distance between the piers is called the span, the part of the main bridge crossing the main navigation hole section is called the main span, and the part near the piers is called the side span.
The main materials used to manufacture steel structure bridges include steel plates, profile steel and high-strength steel. Steel plates usually use low-alloy steel, while some special components may require cast steel or high-quality carbon steel.
The main forms of steel beam bridges are steel plate beams, steel box beams and steel trusses. Its main body is alloy steel, which is a new type of bridge construction method widely used at present.
A: Steel plate girder bridges are usually the main force components of bridges composed of welded H-shaped steel, which are suitable for pedestrian bridges with a span of 10m~40m or driving bridges with low load requirements.
(1)The structure is simple and the construction is convenient: it is made of steel plate welding or bolt connection, and the manufacturing and erection are fast, which is suitable for standardized construction.
(2)Good economy: less steel, suitable for small and medium-sized span bridges, and the cost is relatively low.
(3)Easy maintenance: the structure is simple, and it is easy to inspect, maintain and reinforce.
B: Steel box girder bridges are usually closed box structures composed of steel plate welding, which is suitable for vehicle bridges with a span of 40m and 70m.
(1) High torsional stiffness: The closed box cross section provides excellent bending and torsion resistance, which is suitable for long-span bridges.
(2) Good aerodynamic performance: streamlined sections can reduce the impact of wind load and are suitable for stiffened beams of long-span cable-stayed bridges and suspension bridges.
(3) Strong integrity: The interior of the box girder can be arranged with prestressed bars or maintenance channels to facilitate later maintenance.
C: A steel truss bridge is usually a large-span truss bridge composed of H-shaped steel or box-shaped components, which is suitable for large-span trussing bridges with a span of more than 70m.
(1) Strong crossing ability: the truss structure is reasonable and suitable for super-span bridges, such as highway bridges or heavy-duty railway bridges.
(2) Large stiffness and good stability: the truss structure is integrated and can withstand large dynamic loads, which is suitable for railway bridges.
(3) Good permeability: The truss structure can reduce wind resistance and is suitable for strong wind areas or large-span bridges.
(4) Easy to maintain: The truss member can be replaced separately, and the maintenance cost is low.
In summary, steel structure plays a vital role in bridge construction. It not only provides strong support and durability, but also has flexibility and adaptability, meeting the high requirements of modern bridges for material performance. With the progress of technology and the innovation of design concepts, the application of steel structure will be more extensive, providing more reliable solutions for future bridge construction. Whether it is the safety, durability or environmental protection of the bridge, the steel structure shows its irreplaceable advantages and has become one of the trusted materials in modern bridge construction.
